CGA 2016 Morocco #2

Hello all,
    I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. So far I have raised $1048 towards my trip. I am almost to my half way goal which is $1650 which I need to reach by January 25th. I have raised my money from refereeing, selling dog collars, concessions and donations. Thank you everyone who has donated to me or bought dog collars I really appreciate it.
    As you know I am traveling to Morocco. Here are some interesting facts on Morocco. Morocco was once known as the Kingdom of Morocco. Traditionally the liver, not the heart, is considered to be the symbol of love in Morocco. I think this is very funny, what is so loving about a liver? Its population is 33,848,242. Morocco's most popular sport is soccer, and the Moroccan National team was the first African and Arabic team to qualify for the second round in the Fifa World Cup. I hope I will get to play soccer with the kids there because as many now I am very passionate for the sport.  Official languages are Berber and Arabic. At the moment I am practicing speaking Arabic so I can communicate while I am there.  Morocco was founded March 2,1956. Funny, I thought morocco was older.  
I will be in the capital of Morocco Rabat. Over 2 million people live in Rabat, making it the country's second largest city in Morocco. Arabic and French are the most common languages you'll hear on the streets of Rabat. Rabat, translated directly from Arabic, means Fortified Place. I wonder if it was once like a fortress.

I can’t say I haven’t thought about home but I definitely don’t miss it. I have been in Tanzania for one week now and sadly only have one week left. One can see unimaginable things in a week’s time. Sou s’dei, School in Cambodia is not enforced what so ever. Kids, babies, whoever, roam the streets all day and parents and other adults do not care one bit. Schooling might be the easiest way to a future in America but here in Cambodia school and education only takes a few kids to successful lives. So many parents do not see the need to send their kids to school, because it is not benefiting them to try for that slight chance. I have not understood this yet, and it really surprises me. Leading into my next topic, people in Cambodia need an incentive that will directly and absolutely affect them positively. That is why I also believe people here do not pick up trash. At the orphanage kids throw their trash everywhere except the trash can. When Meng, our lovely Cambodian chaperone, offered the kids a little money for one big bag of trash each, the kids grabbed a bag and dashed off. Some Inspiration from Benard

Caribou, It is hard for me to wrap my head around the thought that my experience in Tanzania is coming to an end. My time in Arusha, at LOAMO School was short but still opened me up to the culture and lifestyle in Tanzania. Teaching is no easy task, and our team conquered this throughout the trip. Not only are the kids in Tanzania amazing but the kids I have been lucky to travel with and work with are too. Being surrounded by greatness and those who are better than you is the best way to learn and develop. I am truly grateful to have been able to bond and work with my new friends. Friday was my last day at school and with my class. The class I worked with was too young to partake in the departure party on Saturday. So I said my goodbyes with them on Friday. My students were in second grade and while they were young they were very intelligent and determined. It is inspiring how hard these kids work and the kids in higher grades work even harder.
