Start to Cambodia
Hello,
I think it is normal to say you travel the world but unique when you say you travel to help people. The time has come for me to start another year of my CGA blogs. The trip I went on to Morocco last year opened up my eyes to a whole different world of pain and happiness which has prepared me for my trip this year. I will be traveling to Cambodia as a sophomore from Battle Mountain High School. I am so excited to be able to participate in CGA for another year. While I am in Cambodia I will be teaching and working in an orphanage. My goals for this trip is to learn the Cambodian culture as well as help people in need. Cambodia is a unique trip because it is the only CGA trip with manual labor. I have heard from few friends that Cambodia is a challenging trip because of the hard work along with the heat. However, I am excited for these and other challenges Cambodia will bring me. I participate in these trips to give opportunities to kids all over the world. My passions are playing sports for fun, and competitively, helping kids, and spending time with friends and family. My family consists of my mom Carrie, my dad Todd, my brother Kaden, and right now I also have an exchange student living with me from Colombia. His name is Pacho, and I consider him a brother to me as well. It has been so much fun having him around and I can't wait to take him skiing for the first time in his life! I participate in many activities in my community such as the Battle Mountain High School soccer team and unfortunately, we just got knocked out of the playoffs. I also play on the school basketball team which is about to start up this month. I also participate in Best Buddies where you work in school with kids with special needs and Small Champions where you help kids with disabilities participate in activities such as skiing, rock climbing, swimming and more. If you have any questions please email me at score0202@gmail.com. Going to a country across the world with peers to help people is exciting and I enjoy it so much I don't want to go home when I have to. I don’t want these experiences to end, this trip to Cambodia is going to live with me forever!
